Finally the day has come! Yes the book has been through the last few days of revisions and checks, and is now available to order from lulu.com!

Copies are £12.99 each, and are printed directly in the UK or the US depending on where you order from, so delivery times are kept to a minimum, my proof copy took 8 days to arrive, so allow plenty of time if you are ordering a copy for Christmas!

Disco Pigs Canned

** THIS SITE IS NO LONGER UPDATED, THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO VISITED AND SUPPORTED THE SITE....**

It was made to my attention that Disco Pigs didn't receive enough pre-orders for them to do a pressing of HD-DVD discs, so they have canned the title.

Which now just leaves 1 title to be released;

August
Freedom: 7 - Bandai Visual - 26?/08/08 - Direct Only

At least Bandai will hold their word and release the combo disc title in a yet to be confirmed August release date, though going by their previous release dates its probably almost certain to be the 19th or 26th of August, my moneys on the 26th!

• I've removed the following titles from the Italian exclusive list as these actually were never released on HD-DVD as previously thought and got pushed onto Blu-ray at the last minute, these Mondo Home titles are the titles that never got released;

• Ask The Dust (Chiedi Alla Polvere) - Mondo Home - 19/03/08
• Head In The Clouds (Gioco Di Donna) - Mondo Home - 05/03/08
• Piano 17 - Mondo Home - 19/03/08

Death Proof Cancelled & More!

Amazon.de has removed the listing of Death Proof on HD-DVD bringing to end any hope we may have had for this title.

Freedom: 6 has officially been released, though you will have to wait a little while as the website states its expected to ship from the 4th July direct from Bandia Visuals online shop only.

Disco Pigs' release date has gone by but I can't find a retailer that has it in stock, Amazon states 4-6 weeks for delivery while others state 'on order' so for now this will remain in the coming soon list.

The updated upcoming HD-DVD list now looks like this...with Torchwood being possibly the last HD-DVD only title, what with the Freedom titles being on Combo discs.

Finally, I've removed the Australian exclusive list from the right hand bar, which only included Rambo III, the French release was released first and can be found easier to buy now so I've added it to the French exclusive list instead.

Torchwood Confirmed For Release

All major retailers have this week removed Trainspotting and Shallow Grave from their release schedules confirming the titles won't be coming out on HD-DVD.


In a turn of good news though, BBC have now listed the HD-DVD version of Torchwood : The Complete First Series on their website available to pre-order, previously only the Blu-Ray version was listed but has now been joined by the HD version.
Some people feared it would never come out especially after other recent titles have got the chop (See above).

Torchwood : The Complete First Series is out 30th June 2008 RRP is a high £54.99 but its one the last HD-DVD's ever but you can pick it up for under £39, and its a cracking series that I recommend to anyone.

Warners Last HD-DVD's

Warners last HD-DVD titles came out this week P.S I Love You and Twister leaving just 3 three titles to come out in the states.

I've removed Planet Terror from the upcoming German list, this late in the game with no set date or pre-order means certainly it won't be coming out now.

Amazon UK has sent out pre-order info for Trainspotting on HD-DVD, it lists it with a RRP of £24.99 and a release date of 20th October 2008! After last weeks news of no such title even being readied for HD release it seems very strange and probably another error in the form of a DVD or Blu-Ray release date....

Amazon UK also now lists the BBC title Torchwood : Series 1 previously only listed by Play.com and HMV, though there is a mistake in the form on the picture used is the Blu-Ray case doh!

So the updated worldwide release schedule looks like this;

And so the list gets smaller only 10 titles now listed with the possibility of Shallow Grave/Trainspotting being canned, Torchwood is still touch and go and the two German titles are both in doubt esp Planet Terror which is almost certain not to come out now :(
